Wearing Grandma’s Sylvia Robes

These two Sylvia Robes (#soisylviarobe) were made within the last 2 days, but I’m sure they can be put together much faster since I was soudough-baking, cleaning and homeschooling the kids at the same time. Designed by Lisa Comfort of Sew Over It, this pattern is an extremely easy make, fit for any beginner to tackle.

The robe is designed like a kimono, and is perfect for springtime as a light coverup. My kids are modeling these robes which are intended for my mom. She lives an ocean and some lands away in Singapore and I wanted to cheer her up by sending these to her as soon as the I can. Singapore is in the middle of a “circuit-breaker” lockdown because of Covid-19, so I hope receiving these in the mail will put some smiles on her face. Also, they provide some stylish lounging around while she works from home.

The fabrics were chosen by her when we were in Chinatown, Singapore in October 2019. The first one is a Japanese polyester. The second is a Japanese cotton print fabric. Both are a size large. Both have contrasting fabric for the collar and the cuffs of the sleeves, which was the only change I made in the pattern. Both will be shipped to Singapore soon.
